lawmOuth does not provide legal services or legal advice and does not allow you to apply for legal services and cannot guarantee your eligibility for any legal services program. In addition, lawmOuth is not designed to be a comprehensive listing of all programs for which you may be eligible. Its purpose is to provide you with a list of legal services providers for which you may be eligible to receive services, as well as legal information.
lawmOuth organizes and links to dozens of non-profit organizations that provide free or low-cost legal help to qualifying individuals and families. These organizations have a shared vision: to provide improved, personalized access to legal assistance programs. lawmOuth is free, so feel free to visit whenever you like. We recommend that you visit lawmOuth whenever you need to find legal assistance. As legal help program eligibility criteria and/or your own life changes, your eligibility to receive certain free or low-cost legal assistance may have changed. Additionally, new legal assistance programs are created over time that you might also be eligible for.
The Search function finds legal programs and information related to the words or phrases you enter into the Search box. Capitalization is not considered by the Search function. Use the Law Finder to obtain initial results, which is a list of legal service programs you may be eligible for, based on the search terms you provided.
You can then click through the links provided to obtain more information about the legal service programs and their qualifications or requirements. After you find a program that suits your situation, you will go through that program's application process in order to obtain the legal services you need.
You cannot apply for legal assistance programs directly on the lawmOuth website. For application information, refer to the program description for information on how to apply for any legal program that interests you.
Legal services programs come and go based on changing laws and funding constraints. As laws change, new legislation is passed, or the time limits for certain programs are reached, legal services programs may be affected. Eligibility requirements may change or the entire program may be eliminated. Therefore, a legal services program that may have once been suggested may no longer be available.
